Happy New Year!

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Happy New Year from Ammonite Lodge Guest House, Chard, Somerset.

If you’re looking to get away for a few days or weeks during 2009, then visit the West Country. We are ideally situated in the small market town of Chard, Somerset, close to the Devon and Dorset borders.

From us, you can visit the Jurassic Coast in Lyme Regis and Charmouth in no about 40 minutes, and even travel down for day trips in Plymouth and Cornwall. Or head in the opposite direction for strolls in Weymouth and Poole. Take the Brown Sea Island Ferry and admire the famous Sandbanks and their grand houses!

And of course, there is the historic city of Bath only 90 minutes away, ideal for site seeing, coach rides, the Bath Spa / Roman Baths or shopping. Also if you fancy some shopping, both Exeter (40 minutes) and Bristol (90 minutes) have new shopping areas - Princesshay in Exeter and the fantastic new Cabot’s Circus in Bristol.
